Rustic Grace Events is a stunning wedding venue located in Van Alstyne. We pride ourselves on offering a flawless and beautiful backdrop for one of the most important days in our clients' lives. We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Manager to ensure our property and facilities are always in immaculate, "event-ready" condition.

The Role

The Facilities/Maintenance Manager is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and maintenance of the entire property, including the venue buildings, grounds, and essential operating systems. This is a hands-on position requiring a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, often with flexible hours that may occasionally include evenings or weekends to handle urgent event-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Venue Readiness: Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all facilities to ensure a picture-perfect setting for every event.
  • Repairs & Maintenance: Execute minor to moderate repairs across various trades, including:
  • Basic Plumbing: Fixing leaks, clearing minor clogs, repairing fixtures.
  • Basic Electrical: Changing light fixtures, ballasts, bulbs (often in high ceilings), and troubleshooting minor electrical issues.
  • Carpentry & Painting: Performing drywall repair, touch-up painting, fixing broken trim, doors, and hardware.
  • Grounds Upkeep: Maintain outdoor areas, ensuring paths and parking areas are clean, well-lit, and free of hazards. Including landscaping tasks (e.g., pruning, watering, seasonal cleanup) as needed.
  • Systems Management: Monitor and maintain HVAC, water heaters, and other critical operating systems.
  • Event Support: Quickly address and resolve any last-minute maintenance issues that arise immediately before or during an event to minimize disruption.
  • Inventory: Manage and organize the inventory of tools, supplies, and maintenance equipment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience (2+ years preferred) in general maintenance, handyman work, or facilities management. Experience in a hospitality setting (hotel, resort, event venue) is a plus.
  • Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair tasks. HVAC & Irrigation certifications and experience a major plus.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, management, and vendors.
  • Availability: Must have a flexible schedule and be available for on-call emergencies, especially on event days.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Schedule

  • Standard Week: 40 Hours a week Monday thru Friday
  • Must be available on-call nights and weekends during events for the rare occasional issue that may arise.
