Requirements

• A minimum of 3 Early Childhood Credits (including one of the following- Child/Fam/Comm, Child Dev, or Intro to EC curriculum course) Courses in progress will be considered.
• The ability to work until 4-5pm most days of the week
• Ability to lift 30lbs
• A GREAT attitude and ability to be a team player and teacher.
• A basic knowledge of Early Child Development with the understanding that our ultimate goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of each child we're entrusted with.
• EC Teaching Experience is a big plus

Our preschool teachers and assistants must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include: knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods, as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention, and the willingness to get down to their level and be one of their first , amazing friends

Responsibilities

• Execute an imaginative and creative program suitable for preschool children aged 2-3yrs
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities
• Engage and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Communicate with parents regularly through our school wide app
• Collaborate with other educators
• Assist with diapering, bathrooming, and potty training
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and sanitized classroom consistent with current and ongoing health and safety standards

Skills

• Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher
• Clear understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to act as mediator between children
• Imaginative, friendly, and reliable
• Certification in child First Aid and CPR preferred
