Job Summary
King County Restoration is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to prepare accurate, timely, and compliant estimates for residential and commercial restoration projects. This role is critical to the success of each job, serving as the bridge between field documentation, insurance requirements, and project execution.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Xactimate, comfortable working with DocuSketch, job photos, and carrier guidelines, and able to manage multiple estimates while maintaining accuracy and consistency. Estimators work closely with Project Managers, adjusters, and internal teams to support smooth project approval and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed restoration estimates using Xactimate, aligned with carrier guidelines and industry standards
- Review mitigation and repair documentation (photos, moisture maps, DocuSketch scans, notes) to ensure accurate scoping
- Collaborate with Project Managers and field teams to confirm scope, quantities, and job requirements
- Prepare and submit estimates, supplements, and revisions in a timely manner
- Respond to adjuster feedback, pricing requests, and scope disputes professionally and efficiently
- Ensure estimates reflect approved scopes, codes, and required line items
- Maintain organized estimate files and documentation in Google Drive and internal systems
- Track estimate status, approvals, and revisions using Dash or company workflows
- Identify missed scope items or potential cost risks and flag them proactively
- Support project handoff by ensuring estimates are clear, complete, and executable for field teams
- Maintain consistency and accuracy across all estimates to support profitability and cycle time goals
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimator in restoration, construction, or insurance-related work
- Strong proficiency in Xactimate (required)
- Experience with DocuSketch and job documentation tools (preferred)
- Solid understanding of insurance estimating guidelines, pricing, and scope development
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with adjusters and internal teams
- Proficiency with Google Drive, Google Sheets, and digital file management
- Ability to review data and documentation critically to identify gaps or inconsistencies
