About Us

We are a fixed‑income money manager hiring an Application Support Engineer to strengthen our investment technology stack. You'll be the go‑to partner for trading, portfolio management, and operations, with an emphasis on Charles River Development (CRD) Order Management System support, data reliability, and workflow automation.

What You'll Do

  • Own day‑to‑day support for Charles River OMS (order/execution workflows, compliance rules, blotters, benchmarks, FIX connectivity, interfaces) to ensure stability, performance, and a great user experience.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents end‑to‑end across application, data, and infrastructure layers; drive root‑cause analysis and permanent fixes.
  • Automate runbooks, checks, and data quality controls using Python and SQL.
  • Build and support data pipelines to and from CRD (market data, reference data, positions, transactions) leveraging Microsoft SQL Server and/or Snowflake (Oracle familiarity is a plus).
  • Support and improve monitoring/alerting for application health, batch jobs, and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on upgrades, patches, and interface changes; contribute to release planning and UAT.
  • Partner closely with trading, PMs, and operations to translate desk needs into practical technical solutions.
  • (Nice to have) Support adjacent platforms such as Eagle (PACE/STAR), Bloomberg, Aladdin, or Salesforce.

What You'll Bring (Must‑Haves)

  • 3+ years hands‑on supporting Charles River OMS in a buy‑side or sell‑side environment.
  • Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and fixed‑income instruments (orders, allocations, compliance/pre‑trade, STP).
  • Strong SQL skills and comfort working with Microsoft SQL Server and/or Snowflake; ability to analyze large datasets and performance‑tune queries.
  • Practical Python for automation, data processing, and API integrations.
  • Experience troubleshooting across logs, jobs/schedulers, integrations (SFTP/REST/FIX), and Windows/Linux services.
  • Clear communication with business users and a bias for documentation/runbooks.

Nice to Have

  • Eagle Investment Systems (PACE/STAR) experience.
  • Oracle SQL familiarity.
  • Azure (or other cloud) fundamentals; Git/CI, job schedulers, observability tools.
  • CRD certifications, prior work with compliance rule modeling, or FIX certifications.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, standard 8‑hour shift, with occasional off‑hours support during releases or incidents.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible schedule
  • Professional development assistance

Location & Work Setup

  • Austin, TX (hybrid preferred).
  • Remote in North America (U.S. & Canada) considered for strong CRD candidates who can collaborate effectively within North American time zones. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in their country of residence.

How to Apply

Please include a brief note describing:

  • a CRD incident you resolved and how you prevented recurrence, and
  • an automation or SQL optimization you delivered that improved stability or performance.
