Job Summary:

Farkas & Donohue is a busy civil litigation firm specializing in medical malpractice defense We are seeking to hire a detail-oriented legal assistant/paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a law office and possess knowledge of litigation process, preparing pleadings and court filings. This position provides an opportunity to work on high value, interesting and complex cases.

Responsibilities:

- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs

- Conduct legal research on various topics including case law, statutes, and regulations

- Manage and organize case files and maintain document control

- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts for case preparation

- Schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions

- Prepare trial exhibits and assist during trial proceedings

- Perform clerical tasks to support the legal team

Experience:

- Experience as a civil litigation legal assistant/paralegal

- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures

- Excellent phone etiquette when communicating with clients and other parties involved in cases

- Experience with medical malpractice litigation is a plus
