We are a fee-only advisory practice that works under a team-oriented approach helping clients achieve their financial goals and bring peace of mind for tomorrow. Our core services include investment management, retirement, financial planning and tax services.
Incorporating tax services is an important way our team brings value to our clients. Through tax preparation and tax planning, we build trust with our clients as they build wealth, preserve it and enjoy. Our tax team works with our advisory team to implement client plans that involve tax bracket management, tax allocation including Roth conversions, harvesting capital gains and losses, Medicare income levels and other health insurance related income planning.
The Role
We are looking to build our tax services team with a Senior Tax Associate. Our firm is a fiduciary, and all team members put the interests of our clients ahead of their own. Client communication is critical in this role, along with team collaboration and deep knowledge of the tax code. Clients have always appreciated our willingness to help.
What You'll Do
- Prepare all levels of tax returns – simple to complex
- Respond to tax notices
- Work with our advisory team on tax analysis and tax planning implementation
- Work directly with clients
- Find and implement opportunities for process improvement as necessary
- Keep up on current tax law and changes and communicate with investment advisory team
- Mentor and work with our tax team
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience in tax preparation; CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Taxation, or Finance
- Handle client inquiries and concerns with efficiency and professionalism, contributing to repeat business and positive feedback
- Follow ethical standards in decision-making and completes work with diligence and reliability
- Strong background in preparing 1040 returns; small business and trust returns
- Proactively tackle tasks and find effective solutions without requiring close supervision
- Interact effectively with office staff and work well in team settings while contributing to shared goals
- Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines through effective planning and organization
