As we continue to grow our U.S. operations, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on Facility Maintenance Manager to help build, support, and maintain a world-class manufacturing environment. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of EM Dynamics' U.S. growth and contribute to establishing a world-class operation from the ground up.
Job Summary
As the Facility Maintenance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of the plant's building, equipment, and utility systems in addition to overseeing the preventive and corrective maintenance programs that support the operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs.
- Conduct regular inspections and coordinate timely service to reduce downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and work orders.
Facility & Equipment Management
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and coordinate corrective actions.
- Oversee maintenance-related capital projects, repairs, and facility upgrades.
- Monitor maintenance budgets, inventory, and spare parts.
- Repair defective machine parts.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices, including cranes, jacks, and tractors, to position parts during installation.
- Align equipment using specialized tools, such as micrometres and plumb bobs.
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures and accurately logging maintenance.
- Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities.
- Collaborate with construction teams and engineers.
- Apply mechanical repair principles and procedures to ensure machinery functions properly.
- Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals.
- Recommend equipment changes to management teams.
- Assemble machinery and equipment before installation when required.
- Perform diagnostic tests on functioning machinery to ensure it's safe.
- Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts necessary for the overhaul, maintenance, or setup of machinery.
- Adjust complex machinery for new patterns and products.
- Clean and lubricate machinery.
- Serve as a point of contact for all suppliers and maintenance personal to ensure compliance and manage all associated costs.
Utilities & Building Systems
- Ensure proper upkeep of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, boilers, and water treatment systems.
- Maintain the building structure, lighting, parking areas, grounds, and facility safety features.
Safety & Compliance
- Uphold OSHA, environmental, and industry safety standards.
- Enforce company safety procedures and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Introduce energy-efficiency improvements and reliability enhancements.
Vendor & Inventory Oversight
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts.
- Coordinate work with external service providers and specialty technicians.
- Maintain adequate inventory of tools and critical spare parts.
Qualifications
- Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of facility or plant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; greater than 5 years of experience is preferred.
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred; FMP/CFM certifications are an asset.
· Must be a licensed millwright.
· Must have electrical or plumbing foundational understanding.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Proven ability to manage vendors and negotiate contracts.
- Knowledge of inventory systems and controls.
- Must be located within a commutable distance to Grand Prairie, Texas.

Working Conditions
- Overtime and extended hours including early starts, late shift departures, weekends, and shift work, based on operational needs is required as needed.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. without assistance as required.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis.
- Occasional air and ground travel for training, vendor meetings, or facility support.
