Summary
The Senior Marketing Proposal Specialist serves as a strategic partner to market sectors and their leaders, exercising independent judgement and creativity. This position is responsible for leading pursuit efforts from identification to final outcome, crafting high-quality proposals and materials, and shaping firm-wide marketing strategies. The Senior Marketing Proposal Specialist applies advanced expertise to oversee complex projects, mentor marketing teammates, and drive continuous improvement in pursuit processes and communication strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary
1. Partner and oversee pursuit strategy and execution for assigned market sectors, from initial opportunity identification through final submittal.
2. Serve as the primary point for pursuits, including:
- Lead the process of producing statements of qualifications and proposals, leading efforts of teams comprising technical staff, marketing teams, and others as needed.
- In collaboration with pursuit champions, define strategy and creative ideas for innovative delivery and communications approaches.
- Develop, author, or edit content.
- Develop, format, and populate documents using inDesign, Google Slides, or other tools as determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Provide QA/QC.
- Ensure timely delivery and follow up communications.
- Lead and collaborate on interview preparation sessions, coaching teams for alignment, clarity, and message impact.
3. Author and edit persuasive and well-structured proposal content; ensure messaging consistency across deliverables.
4. Provide guidance to Marketing Coordinator in proposal best practices and tools.
5. Manage and delegate multiple concurrent pursuits, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
6. Strategize innovative proposals and interview approaches in collaboration with pursuit champions and leadership teams.
7. Conduct and synthesize market and client research to inform pursuit strategies and future planning.
8. Manage firm-wide marketing initiatives such as social media and awards programs.
9. Model the firm's values and core commitments, ensuring alignment with internal expectations for professionalism, collaboration, and ethical behavior.
10. Respect and reinforce established firm policies and processes.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional
1. Lead development of high-visibility reputation-building materials, including blogs, event & conference presentations and other standalone awards submissions.
2. Working with design teams, lead and develop awards submissions.
3. Coordinate complex project photography and visual storytelling initiatives.
4. Provide quality oversight of website content and social media strategy.
5. Partner with design and leadership teams to advance firm-wide marketing goals.
Requirements
Education, Experience, and other Qualifications
- BS or BA degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in the marketing, communication, or related professional services environment.
- Demonstrated success leading complex proposal efforts and client-facing communications.
- In-dept understanding of the A/E/C industry's marketing best practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone and messaging.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple deadlines independently.
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to set priorities and make decisions with minimal oversight.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; skilled at leading collaborative efforts.
- Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint preferred.
- Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable exercising discretion and independent judgment in decision-making.
