Job Summary

The Dispatch Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of our transportation departments. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient dispatching of drivers, supporting driver processing, managing transportation planning, and optimizing warehouse processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of transportation management systems.

Duties

  • Oversee the dispatching process to ensure timely and accurate delivery driver dispatch.
  • Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to optimize routing and improve efficiency.
  • Plan driver routes.
  • Answer inbound calls from customers to coordinate driver schedules.
  • Make outbound calls to clients to coordinate pick up or deliveries.
  • Manage our ReMatter software dispatch tool.
  • Analyze data related to shipping & receiving to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain effective communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams using multi-line phone systems. .
  • Provide training and support to dispatch staff on best practices in dispatching and logistics operations.
  • Conduct regular assessments of operational performance to implement necessary changes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dispatching or logistics management within a transportation environment.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
  • Proficient in data entry with a high level of accuracy in typing tasks.
  • Strong Excel skills a plus.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette and communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in fleet management, shipping & receiving processes, and supply chain operations is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40, $48,000.00 per year
