Overview

The Jefferson Hotel is seeking a warm, polished, and guest-focused Afternoon Tea Service Attendant to join our Food & Beverage team. This position supports our elegant Afternoon Tea Service on the Mezzanine level, ensuring each guest enjoys an unforgettable experience that reflects the hotel's tradition of grace and hospitality.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, team-driven, and passionate about providing refined, attentive service in a luxury environment.

Schedule & Availability

  • November: Fridays & Saturdays, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • December: 5–6 days per week, 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Begins as a seasonal position with the potential for year-round employment based on performance and business needs.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in fine dining, tea service, or hospitality preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Excellent attention to detail, guest-minded service approach, and ability to anticipate needs.
  • Work Ethic: Professional, dependable, and adaptable with a warm and polished demeanor.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights for extended periods.

Basic Functions & Scope

  • Provide support to servers and guests during Afternoon Tea service on the Mezzanine.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and tea service areas.
  • Assist with presentation and timely delivery of tea, pastries, and accoutrements.
  • Ensure a smooth flow of service by anticipating guest and team needs throughout the experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clear, reset, and sanitize tables efficiently between guests.
  • Refill water glasses and assist with delivering tea and menu items.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the Mezzanine dining and service areas.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless, elegant service.
  • Follow all health, safety, and food handling protocols.
  • Complete assigned side work and closing duties to support overall operations.
  • Assist guests with requests in a polished, courteous manner.
