Location: Orlando, FL
Pay: $21+ per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Schedule: Monday to Friday | Full-time | In-person
About Us
Our busy Cardiology practice in Orlando is seeking a skilled and motivated Verification/Prior Authorization Specialist to join our growing team. We take pride in delivering the highest quality healthcare and providing a professional, supportive, and patient-focused environment.

Starting Pay: $21 per hour and up, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient benefits online, by phone, and through the EMR.
- Obtain referrals from referring physician offices.
- Enter and maintain accurate patient information in the EMR system.
- Obtain prior authorizations for:
- Radiology studies (CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound)
- Peripheral and Cardiac Interventions
- Venous Ablations
- Provide clear benefit explanations and cost estimates to patients.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all authorizations and communications.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office setting.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of insurance verification and authorization experience (required)
- Knowledge of HMO, PPO, and Government insurance plans
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Dependable, reliable, and flexible with a professional and compassionate attitude
- Knowledge of medical terminology (especially cardiology and radiology terms)
- Understanding of ICD-10 coding preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and EMR systems (EMD's preferred but not required)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Some college coursework (preferred)
Experience
- Medical office experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Medical terminology: 1–2 years (preferred)
