About the Role
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Title and Escrow Operations, Clever Closings is looking for a dedicated Branch Manager/Senior Escrow Officer to join our Closings Team. This role involves managing the end-to-end process of real estate transactions while overseeing the branch's operations and ensuring compliance with Michigan regulations. As the branch manager, you will take ownership of the branch's success by ensuring operational excellence and maintaining a customer-first culture.
As the first and final point of contact for customers and clients, the Branch Manager/Senior Escrow Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining the company's reputation and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. By maintaining professional conduct in all interactions and providing timely feedback to business leaders, the Branch Manager/Senior Escrow Officer will help drive continuous improvement and uphold the company's standards of excellence.
As an Branch Manager/Senior Escrow Officer, you will be accountable for:
- Compliance: Ensure the branch operates efficiently and complies with Michigan Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) requirements.
- Branch Operations: Supervise branch operations, including managing escrow files, maintaining compliance, managing funds, and meeting service targets.
- Closing Process: Facilitate a professional closing experience, including obtaining appropriate signatures, handling funds, and meeting all title and lender requirements.
- Document Preparation: Review contracts, title commitments, and lender instructions to prepare settlement statements and necessary real estate documents for closing.
- Fund Management: Hold and disburse funds according to escrow instructions, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
- Proactive Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with all parties involved in the real estate transaction throughout the life cycle of the file. Provide timely and accurate feedback to business leaders to support continuous improvement.
- Document Recording: Prepare documents for recording to ensure legal compliance and proper documentation.
- Quality Control: Oversee policy issuance to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Business Development: Build and maintain relationships with Realtors and industry professionals to continuously grow business opportunities.
- Team Mentorship: Assist in the development of team members by mentoring Assistant, fostering a collaborative and skilled team environment.

Skills / Qualifications
- Demonstrates complete knowledge and ability to handle a Real Estate transaction from receipt of contract to funding and disbursement.
- Solid knowledge of title insurance, regulatory guidelines, legal documents and real property law.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent people skills.
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to job.
- Demonstrated superior customer service skills.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts (e.g., statistical inferences), the fundamentals of geometry, and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios to practical situations.
- Excellent computer skills in Closing Software (Qualia a plus), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel,), Adobe Suite and Google Workplace.

- 5+ years in the title industry (Residential Resale)

- Base compensation: $75-90k with total comp range $110-135k
