Independent Financial Group (IFG) is seeking a Director of Advisory Product Management to lead the oversight, development, and operations of IFG's advisory products and platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, driving platform innovation, and strategically advancing IFG's advisory solutions to enhance both advisor and client experiences.

The Director will oversee a high-performing team focused on product and platform enhancements, due diligence, operations, trading, billing, workflow management, and advisor support. Acting as a key liaison across departments, this individual will serve as a subject matter expert in advisory products, processes, and platform optimization. The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic thinker with deep industry expertise, exceptional leadership ability, and a strong commitment to elevating IFG's advisory business.

Job Duties:

Advisory Strategy

  • Define and execute IFG's long-term advisory product strategy, aligning with firmwide growth objectives.
  • Establish and manage pricing across platforms and solutions to balance advisor, client, and firm economics.

Corporate Advisory Platform Management

  • Oversee product architecture and offering strategy for IFG's corporate advisory platform.
  • Manage the strategic relationship with IFG's advisory platform technology provider to ensure quality service, competitive features, and seamless integration (AccessPoint).
  • Design workflows, processes, and playbooks that optimize the advisor and client experience.

Advisory Solutions Partner Management

  • Lead oversight of IFG's TAMP relationships (e.g., AssetMark, Orion, Focus) to ensure platform competitiveness and strong service delivery.

Risk & Compliance Oversight

  • Partner with compliance and operations teams to ensure platforms meet regulatory and supervisory requirements.
  • Evaluate, implement, and monitor vendor controls, leveraging IFG's product review committee as appropriate.

Communications & Business Growth

  • Act as a subject-matter expert on trends in advisory products, TAMPs, fiduciary regulation, and advisory business models.
  • Collaborate with IFG consulting teams to drive adoption of advisory solutions, increase fee-based revenue, and expand assets under management.
  • Lead advisory department restructuring initiatives, including task allocation, role definition, and hiring plans as needed.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or credentials (CFA, CIMA, etc.) preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in wealth management, investment advisory, or financial services operations.
  • FINRA Series 7 & 66 required; Series 24 must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
  • Proven expertise in investment advisory platforms, particularly in the independent advisor space.

Desired Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of advisory platforms, including fee-based account structures, billing, trading workflows, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with Pershing, Envestnet, and leading IBD TAMPs such as AssetMark, Orion, and Focus.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating performance, risk, and platform economics.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and workflow tools.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.
