Under direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) II, Print and Distribution Services Section, the Business Service Officer (BSO) II (Supervisor) is responsible for the supervision of the Printing Services Unit of the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA). The BSO II is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and directing all functions of the unit to its timely and satisfactory conclusion. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, supervising the printing of both complex and standard printing. Standard printing includes, but is not limited to, single- and and double-sided printing (black ink only). Complex printing includes, but is not limited to, four-color process, two-color process, dual tones, tight registration, half tones, and solids. The incumbent is also responsible for gathering production and equipment statistical information for equipment and position justifications. This unit provides support for CDTFA Headquarters and all field offices, and the Board of Equalization (BOE). The BSO II controls the operations of this unit while adhering to State of California and CDTFA policies and guidelines for these functions. The BSO II keeps the manager informed about potential problems, trends, and needed changes required to keep the unit running efficiently and effectively.

Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for partial telework for eligible candidates residing in California. All telework/hybrid schedules require staff to report to the office a minimum number of days per week. Schedules are subject to change.

Currently, per the California Budget Act of 2025, all California Department of Tax and Fee Administration salaries are subject to the provisions of the State of California's Personal Leave Program.
