Sales Manager – Utility-Scale BESS
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies for utility-scale BESS solutions in the U.S. markets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with utilities, IPPs, project developers, EPC companies, and large C&I customers.
- Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, technical communication, proposal development, contract negotiation, and project handover.
- Build strong client relationships and act as the primary point of contact throughout pre-sales and post-sales cycles.
- Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing, policy changes, and emerging technologies relevant to energy storage.
- Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, product, legal, and project delivery to ensure accurate solution proposals.
- Represent company at industry conferences, customer meetings, and energy-related events.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for regional sales performance.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of sales or business development experience in utility-scale BESS, energy storage, or renewable energy (battery manufacturers, EPC, developers, or utility-facing roles preferred).
- Successful track record working on 10MW+ utility-scale BESS projects (CAISO, ERCOT, PJM experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of BESS technologies: Battery, PCS, EMS, BMS, system integration, and grid interconnection.
- Familiarity with U.S. energy markets, utilities, IPPs, grid operators, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship-management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or related field.
