As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. By meticulously managing payroll functions, including calculating wages, withholding taxes, and processing deductions, you will guarantee that employees are paid correctly and on time, fostering a positive work environment and enhancing employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities
The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for the organization, using payroll software like UltiPro to manage biweekly payroll, commissions, timecards, and deductions. This role involves handling confidential information, running payroll reports, and complying with legal requirements such as garnishments and child support orders. The Payroll Specialist will also address payroll inquiries, collaborate with management, and support various payroll-related projects to maintain a smooth and efficient payroll operation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Appropriately and discreetly handle high level, confidential information as a regular part of daily operations
- Process biweekly payroll on UltiPro software (or payroll software equivalent)
- Assist with the payroll reconciliations
- Manage/review timecards in UltiPro Time Management software
- Act as Administrator for UltiPro Time Management time collection system
- Create, run and download reports using UltiPro Reporting software and/or UltiPro Time Management
- Process Commission Schedules and update appropriate worksheets
- Update Varicent system access for new hires
- Document and maintain Bi-Weekly HR PAF items
- Support Payroll Specialist Training as needed
- Comply with all garnishment and child support orders
- Field questions from management and employees regarding payroll issues
- Work closely with Manager on payroll related issues
- Miscellaneous projects as assigned by Manager
- Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
- Additional job duties as assigned
Skills/Experience Required
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of UltiPro software (or payroll software equivalent) and Business Intelligence reporting experience
- Fundamental Payroll Certification Preferred
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently and with confidential information
- Strong computer skills: experience with Microsoft word processing and spreadsheets required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Requirements
- Sit, walk, stand, use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment
- Reach with hands and arms
- See and be able to read, write, and interpret text
- Employee may use computer, phone, copier and other office equipment in the course of a day
- Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds
- Employee may be required to travel for business purposes
- When working remotely, ability to secure confidential information
- When working remotely, perform all duties in a professional environment free of noise or anything that would create a negative customer experience
