he Lead Software Engineer plays a critical role in driving the successful delivery of Kardex FulfillX (KFX) product initiatives. They lead technical execution across multiple teams and projects, ensuring architecture, design, and implementation align with business objectives. This role collaborates closely with engineering managers, architects, and implementation engineers to deliver high‑quality solutions.

The Lead Software Engineer contributes to KFX product vision by influencing architectural decisions, introducing technical improvements, and engaging with stakeholders to refine product capabilities. They provide mentorship, support testing and ramp‑up phases, and help strengthen alignment with the KFX product team in Germany.

Your tasks

Job Purpose

  • Lead end‑to‑end design, development, testing, and deployment of KFX software projects.

  • Ensure scalable and maintainable system architecture for mission‑critical industrial automation solutions.

  • Provide engineering leadership supporting startup growth and process maturity.

  • Approx. 20% domestic and potential international travel.

Job Role

  • Lead cross‑team and cross‑project technical delivery; partner with managers on initiative‑level execution.

  • Own key architectural and high‑complexity system design decisions.

  • Drive successful delivery of large‑scale projects and ensure technical quality.

  • Mentor and guide engineers, ensuring effective task coordination and knowledge‑sharing.

  • Capture requirements from internal and external partners, driving early design and technical specifications.

  • Report status and risks to the Engineering Manager and stakeholders.

  • Champion organization‑wide engineering improvements and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition and evolution of technical architecture for complex systems.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert across multiple technologies and system components.

  • Drive continuous improvement, adopting modern engineering tools, automation, and processes.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to align technology strategy with business goals.

  • Guide troubleshooting, deployment issues, and advanced integration challenges.

  • Support testing, ramp‑up, and on‑site phases to ensure issue‑free customer go‑lives.

Requirements Training/Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Professional Experience:

  • 5+ years software development experience with growing leadership responsibilities.

  • Expertise in C#, distributed systems, and interface‑driven architecture.

  • Hands-on experience with HTTP, Javascript (REACT), JSON, and

  • Experience with SQL and API frameworks (SOAP, REST, XML).

  • Proven success implementing scalable warehouse control or automation software solutions preferred.

  • Strong understanding of logistics and IT processes.

Leadership:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and influence architecture and delivery outcomes.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership and accountability for results.

  • Ability to build relationships across teams and cultures.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and strong focus on product quality and customer success
