Title: Issues Management BA/PM

Location – Buffalo, NY

Project Overview:

The role sits within the
Risk and Control Solutions team
, focusing on programs that address
audit, issue management (CAPs)
, or enterprise-wide remediation initiatives. These projects typically cut across multiple Markets businesses and functions.

The work is highly
analysis-driven
, supporting centralized programs that enhance controls and risk mitigation, especially in the
payments and movement-of-funds space
.

The team partners closely with
Program Management
to identify risks, review control structures, analyze issues, and define remediation or automation opportunities. The goal is to
strengthen the control environment
, reduce manual touch points, and introduce systemic control enhancements.

Role Description:

This position combines
Business Analyst
and
Project Management
elements. The candidate will work alongside the program manager to:

• Conduct analysis and data gathering across business lines and technology.
• Review control frameworks for key applications (payments, journals, etc.).
• Coordinate surveys and workshops with business teams to assess existing control gaps.
• Summarize findings, prepare structured deliverables (Excel/PowerPoint), and feed insights into remediation or automation plans.
• Collaborate with technology partners to translate analysis into actionable requirements.
• Present findings and updates to senior stakeholders, including MD-level management.

Key Requirements:

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong
  Business Analysis
  background, ideally within
  risk and control
  (This is more of focus than issue management) or
  issue management
  environments.
• Excellent
  Excel
  and
  PowerPoint
  skills for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
• Strong
  communication and stakeholder management
  skills; comfort presenting to senior management (including MDs/SMEs).
• Experience coordinating
  workshops
  , conducting
  survey-based assessments
  , and producing concise summaries.
• Knowledge of
  banking or financial operations
  , preferably in Markets.

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to
  payments
  and
  movement of funds
  projects (automation, control implementation, etc.).
• Familiarity with

  products (e.g., derivatives, settlements, confirmations, booking processes).
• Experience interacting with

  teams for control design and implementation.

Preferred Candidate Background:

• Prior exposure to

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Partner with program management to analyze issues and identify control gaps.
• Review and document control structures for applications in payments and journal systems.
• Facilitate workshops with business and technology teams to collect data and clarify control processes.
• Compile findings into clear summaries and remediation recommendations.
• Prepare presentations and reports for senior management review.
• Support follow-ups with technology for automation and control introduction.

Technical Skills:

• Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, summaries).
• PowerPoint (executive-level presentations).
• Basic understanding of control tools, survey collection, and workflow tracking systems.

Additional Requirements:

• Hybrid schedule (Buffalo, NY) – onsite presence expected as per client's current hybrid policy.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Comfort working in a high-visibility environment with multiple stakeholders.
