The Staff Accountant provides monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting support for the Firm's clients.  The ability to multitask and perform accounting tasks for multiple service lines across the Firm as needed. The Staff Accountant will maintain their assigned workload in an efficient, effective, and timely manner while adhering to professional standards.  The Staff Accountant will assist the Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) department with maintaining financial records and assisting with preparation of client financial statements.  This position requires additional work hours to support Firm's tax season.

Position Reports to 

The Staff Accountant is a member of the Client Accounting and Advisory Services team, reporting to the Senior Accountants, Supervisor or Manager

Responsibilities:

· Complete and assist with the accounting and finance needs for multiple clients, varying in size and complexity.

· Assist with the preparation of general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

· Assist with financial statements in conformity with GAAP.

· Regular communication with clients to review their financial and accounting activities.

· Complete and assist with various accounting related projects for multiple clients.

· Complete client work and produce deliverables.

· Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interaction with client personnel

· Coordinate with other staff members to ensure accuracy of posted transactions through A/P, A/R, and Fixed Assets.

· Initiate journal entries, maintain detailed supporting analysis and documentation in support of financial statement preparation

· Reconcile payroll reports to financial statements

· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing detailed account information for financial statement preparation for the Monthly/Quarterly Write Up process

· Ability to recognize client needs and facilitate meeting client expectations

· Other duties as assigned.

Core Schedule

· Monday – Friday, Saturday's during tax season at agreed-upon schedule between the Staff Accountant and CAAS Supervisor or Manager

Physical Requirements

· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job requirements

Education and Experience:

· Experience preferred is two or more years related work experience in Accounting/Business related field

· Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.

· Licensed CPA or CPA candidate, helpful but not required

· Capable of working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail

· Strong working knowledge of financial accounting concepts including ability to create electronic workpapers for monthly, quarterly and/or annual financial statements

· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and be a team player

· Ability to become proficient in related technologies such as QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), Microsoft Office Suite including intermediate Excel skills, , PCS, CCH Fixed Assets, Adobe, ADP and other outsourced payroll reporting platforms

· Exemplify strong organizational skills, confidentiality and a positive attitude

· Demonstrates integrity, with a strong emphasis on relationships and a commitment to client service

· Willingness to appropriately communicate potential conflicts and challenges to supervisor or others as appropriate in a timely manner

· Ability to manage and prioritize large workloads

· Join client meetings and participate, while displaying the ability to effectively communicate

· Develops an awareness of Firm services and ability to embrace the One Firm approach
