JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Simulation Education provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and academic guidance for the design, delivery, and evaluation of simulation-based education within the Simulation Center. This role collaborates with faculty, clinical leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative simulation programs that enhance clinical skills, promote patient safety, and advance educational excellence across the institution.

The Manager is responsible for supervising simulation educators and support staff, ensuring effective use of simulation technologies, and aligning simulation activities with institutional goals and accreditation standards. This position oversees curriculum integration, instructional design, faculty development, and assessment methodologies to create high-quality learner experiences.

The Manager also monitors program outcomes, manages budgets and resources, and drives continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making. By fostering collaboration, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and promoting best practices in experiential learning, the Manager of Simulation Education plays a critical role in preparing healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

Education

Master's Degree in Education or related field.

Experience

7 years of experience in simulation-based education, instructional design, curricular work, or related field.

Licenses and Certifications

CHSE (Certified Healthcare Simulation Education) certification Upon Hire

Preferred Skills

A clinical background in nursing or respiratory therapy is strongly preferred, with experience applying clinical expertise in educational or simulation-based environments.

JOB DUTIES

Oversees the implementation of the simulation curriculum across different programs and courses, ensuring consistency and coherence.

Advises, assists and collaborates with faculty, educators and staff to develop and implement curricula, placing special emphasis on innovative instructional modalities.

Organizes and oversees faculty development, and provides assistance and training to faculty for the design and delivery of effective instruction through innovative technology.

Ensures that accreditation standards are maintained, generates annual reports and compile materials for reaccreditation cycles, including site visits.

Researches, evaluates, and identifies new learning methods and instructional technology.

Evaluates assessment methods for valid, adequate, and reliable standards.

Provides technical and educational support to faculty, staff and students for online teaching and learning tools related to innovative curricula.

Develops and maintains curriculum portal for the Simulation Center.

Facilitates and supports development of content for simulation scenarios to ensure the identified learning objectives can be met.

Serves as subject matter expert in simulation-based curriculum teaching, assessment and instructional design methods to provide consultation and guidance to faculty, instructors and stakeholders.

Identifies and supports the implementation of new educational technologies and methods to enhance simulation-based learning experiences.

Coordinates timelines and work plans for simulation curriculum development and implementation, annual reviews, revision, and course evaluations.

Tracks all scholarly activity.

Performs other duties as assigned.
