This position plays a key role in ensuring timely equipment coordination, accurate shipment tracking, and smooth communication with carriers and internal teams. The coordinator will assist in managing container and trailer movements, updating system data, preparing basic reports, and supporting process compliance related to yard, gate, and delivery operations. Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing available rail and over-the-road (OTR) carrier capacity based on shipping projections.
- Support in assigning loads to carriers, considering lead time, priority, and customer requirements.
- Communicate with carriers to confirm equipment availability and coordinate pick-up/delivery schedules.
- Help manage daily trailer/container inventory by tracking and reconciling actual counts with system data.
- Record trailer gate-in/gate-out activity and maintain accurate logs.
- Update and maintain shipment-related documentation and file records systematically.
- Enter operational data into spreadsheets and internal systems to support reporting.
- Monitor trailer dwell time and aging; log reasons and potential delays.
- Collaborate with team members in Carrier Management, Transportation Management, and Settlement to ensure on-time operations.
- Proactively support issue resolution by relaying information to relevant internal parties.
- Follow standard operating procedures and assist in identifying minor process improvements.
- Help maintain container yard security procedures and follow company safety policies.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and provide general operational support to the logistics team.
- High School Diploma or higher degree required
- 2+ years of logistics, transportation, or yard management experience (carrier operations preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data entry; ability to work with transportation tracking systems preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a proactive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, and willing to learn.

Your base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This allows you to progress as you grow and develop within the position. The base pay range for this role is between $28.00 ~ $38.00/ hr., and your base pay will depend on your skills, education, qualifications, experience, and location.
