Job Overview

CVDA is seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic and fast-paced dental group. With 3 locations in the Cedar Valley the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and treatments.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and equipped with necessary instruments.
  • Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
  • Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Ensure infection control protocols are followed, including the use of aseptic techniques.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with front desk duties as needed, including managing patient flow.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary.
  • Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to younger patients.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
  • Familiarity with infection control standards and aseptic techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is desirable but not mandatory.
  • EFDA certificaition is a major plus
