About the team and position
We're looking for an experienced and proven Talent Acquisition Team Lead to join our unique and exciting organization, supporting Talent Acquisition efforts within our Operations Talent team. The Team Lead, Talent Acquisition will have the unique opportunity to build, develop, and lead the execution of full life-cycle recruiting for Carvana's Operations teams, while guiding a recruiting team to meet (or crush) high-volume hiring targets.
In this role you'll lead your team to success in one of our company's top priorities - staffing Carvana's Operations teams with top talent. You'll also develop strong business relationships with your business partners and internal customers. Most importantly, you'll see your efforts and insights result in an immediate, tangible impact every day in a company that's been (and will continue) changing the game.
Work Location
This role is located at our Corporate HQ in Tempe, AZ and is performed on-site, 5 days a week.
What you'll be doing
- Guide and lead the day to day full life-cycle recruiting efforts, including hiring events and/or leadership recruiting where applicable, for Operations recruiting.
- Inspire, motivate, and lead a recruiting team to ensure individual and team KPIs/metrics and hiring targets are being met.
- Train, guide, and support team members in developing recruiting strategies and initiatives for their areas of focus.
- Review and analyze data to identify trends; recommend solutions to improve recruiting effectiveness, identify efficiencies, and increase quality of hire.
- Monitor and maintain weekly and monthly reports to track staffing, hire rate, candidate pipeline, and other metrics necessary to identify recruitment gaps and overall effectiveness.
- Onboard and train new team members, and support with local in-market training when needed.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to anticipate and meet evolving hiring needs.
- Develop team to leverage a diverse "toolbox" of creative and traditional sourcing techniques, efficiently screening candidate resumes against required skill sets.
- Support Operations leadership job requisitions from source to hire.
- Ensure a candidate-centric approach, aligned with both the needs of the candidate and our employer brand.
- Partner with Talent Development, HR Operations, and Operations leadership to help translate talent needs into quality candidates and new hires.
- Constantly think of new ways to improve all things recruiting, including the candidate experience, interview practices, funnel-building, reporting, quality of hire, hiring manager experience, and more.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you should know/have
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution.
- 5+ years experience in full-cycle recruiting, including experience in leadership recruiting.
- 2+ years experience leading a team/others.
- Experience using virtual recruitment (social media, LinkedIn, resume sourcing, virtual career fairs).
- Experience working with an ATS, preferably Greenhouse.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to coach and motivate others with strong influencing skills.
- Energy and drive to accomplish goals, meet deadlines, and find solutions.
We'd love it if you also have
- Experience specifically in high-volume recruiting (2+ years preferred).
- Recruiting experience in the automotive industry.
- Experience coordinating and leading effective hiring events.
- Experience leading newer people leaders (Team Lead level)
