Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and presentation. This position offers an opportunity to lead in a fast-paced environment, contribute to menu development, and oversee daily kitchen activities. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to deliver outstanding dining experiences across various service settings, including fine dining, catering, and banquet events.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of menu items, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff during shifts, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Oversee food production processes, including food handling, cooking, and plating.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels to minimize waste.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
  • Support menu planning and development by contributing culinary ideas and innovations.
  • Coordinate with catering and banquet departments to execute special events seamlessly.
  • Monitor kitchen operations during shift management to ensure efficiency and adherence to standards.
  • Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards.
  • Assist in managing kitchen schedules, ensuring proper staffing levels for all service periods.

Skills

  • Proven experience in fine dining environments with strong culinary skills.
  • Supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and experience working within dietary departments is a plus.
  • Expertise in food production, catering, and restaurant management.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent team management skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and control processes.
  • Skilled in menu planning, food handling, and food safety protocols.
  • Experience with kitchen management including shift supervision and operational oversight.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
