Accounts Payable/Scale Attendant – Recycling

Ming's Resources is a growing Recycling company in Hayward. We are looking for a capable and dedicated individual to work in our growing recycling facility. Our Scale Attendant and Accounting Clerk is responsible for scheduling customer pick-ups, shipping and receiving loads and processing payments to our customers. The position will also assist with our scale operations, receiving and shipping of material in and out of the facility. Working in an office environment and scale office, the position will be required to walk outside to inspect material and communicate with customers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adds and maintain accurate Vendor Master Records in accounts payable system;
  • Captures invoice details into the accounts payable system while ensuring accurate coding of related expenses;
  • Routes invoices and supporting documentations for approval, assuring compliance with the company's authorization policy;
  • Accurately matches invoices to Purchase Orders;
  • Maintains established quality, productivity and timeliness standards;
  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions;
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential;
  • Communicates with internal staff and vendors regarding payment status and discrepancy resolution
  • Operates computers, scales, registers, credit/debit card devices and other equipment, as applicable.
  • Responds to customer requests by investigating problems and making necessary repairs, or contacting supervisor for assistance, as applicable.
  • Responsible for routing and scheduling daily pick-ups and printing of Bills of Lading for carrier loads.
  • Physical demands include sitting, walking, standing, repetitive use of both hands, and being around other work equipment and machinery. Hours are primarily Monday through Friday 6am - 2:30 with some overtime and weekends.
  • Qualifications: Prior Recycling, Shipping, Customer Service experience desired. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment Computer skills, basic (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
