Job Summary

We are seeking a self-motivated Engine Harness Development Engineer responsible for the design, prototyping, and documentation of wiring harnesses for engines, transmissions, and electrified powertrain systems. These harnesses support conventional and electrified powertrain test cells.

Key Responsibilities


• Design and document wiring harnesses for dynamometer testing.


• Organize and oversee harness builds (in-house and outsourced).


• Verify harness operation, check for errors, and troubleshoot issues in the field.


• Manage inventory and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary.


• Interpret device transmittal information for efficient harness design.


• Collaborate with product development engineers to gather electrical requirements.


• Work with technicians and suppliers to ensure harnesses meet specifications.


• Maintain design documentation and drawing database.

Required Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering (ABET accredited).


• 2+ years of relevant work experience.


• Strong knowledge of wiring requirements (current, voltage, grounding, shielding, twisted wiring).


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.


• Experience guiding technicians on harness repair/modification.


• Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Suite.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications


• Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering (ABET accredited).


• 5+ years of relevant work experience.


• Experience with automotive/instrumentation wiring, data acquisition systems, and dynamometer operations.


• Familiarity with battery electric and hybrid electric powertrain systems.


• Hands-on experience with vehicle, engine, and transmission assembly/repair.
