Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager of Communications develops effective communication strategies that help internal and external stakeholders connect the dots between TruStage's priorities, strategic investments, vision, mission and ambition. Through compelling storytelling and interpersonal connections, the Senior Manager of Communications inspires audiences to work together to create an engaging and inclusive workplace culture and achieve the company's business goals. The position works in close alignment with executives and business unit leaders to develop and execute communication strategies, plans and programs that support business goals and drive alignment and engagement with stakeholders - helping to achieve the company's purpose, deliver its strategies and live its brand principles and values as the organization continues its commitment to growth. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure communications at the enterprise level consistently reflect business and cultural goals, TruStage's purpose, principles and values and adhere to brand standards and key messaging platforms. Ensure communication strategies are forward-thinking, engaging, and support and enhance the company's strategic direction.
  • Develop comprehensive communications plans for enterprise efforts, ensuring strategy messaging and the TruStage voice is clearly and consistently communicated to all stakeholders. Ensure delivery of internal and external corporate communications (e.g., employee forums, external forums, media, social media) and enterprise communications to employees (e.g., internal announcements).
  • Provide communications counsel to executive(s), senior leaders, and business leaders.
  • Stay current on advances in communications techniques, audience insights and change management best practices to inform and inspire audiences to action.
  • Enhance the TruStage image and reputation as an industry thought leader and employer focused on issues of relevance to TruStage and its stakeholders.
  • Partner with marketing leaders to identify opportunities to develop and demonstrate thought leadership that supports and enhances the TruStage image and reputation. Develop and deliver strategies for engaging stakeholders.
  • Build employee stories, customer testimonials and other compelling communications that enhance the company culture and express the TruStage difference.
  • Responsible for communication plan development and execution supporting M&A, enterprise change management, complex social topics and crisis response within assigned business units and in support of the enterprise.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies for our advisor-facing channels, ensuring consistent messaging that drives engagement and business results
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, business, product, and all customer-facing teams to create integrated campaigns that enable field teams to connect our enterprise strategy with client needs
  • Establish and track measurement frameworks to assess effectiveness of advisor and client-facing field communications and optimize based on data insights
  • Manage field-facing communication touchpoints including newsletters, webinars, conferences, digital platforms, and training materials
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, providing counsel on messaging, positioning, and communication approaches for high-stakes initiatives that impact field-facing employees
  • Lead enterprise-wide communications initiatives that impact field-facing employees that require cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment
  • Provide communications expertise for product launches, regulatory updates, and market expansion initiatives
  • Work closely with business development, product marketing, and sales enablement teams to support field-facing employees to drive adoption of innovative communication technologies and methodologies, including AI-enabled tools and digital platforms

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications and marketing, with expertise spanning executive, internal, and business/field-facing audiences
  • Demonstrated strong skills in storytelling, writing and editing clear, concise, and compelling materials, speeches, and briefs – quickly and under pressure
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing successful communications strategies that deliver measurable business results
  • Proven experience advising and supporting C-suite executives
  • Exceptional strategic thinking abilities with experience leading enterprise-wide communications initiatives
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, including integrity, inclusiveness, empathy, courage, and collaboration.
  • Expertise in change management and change communications
  • Outstanding writing, messaging, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and channels
  • Marketing expertise with understanding of campaign development, audience segmentation, and performance measurement
  • Experience working in agile environments and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Collaborative leadership style with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with modern communications technologies, digital platforms, and emerging AI tools
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and leading effective teams for desired performance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, with expertise spanning executive, internal, and business/field-facing audiences
  • Strong background in regulated industries, such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare preferred
  • ProSci certification

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

Base Salary Range:

$119, $178,700.00
