Job Description:
The Education & Safety Coordinator plays a pivotal role within the Association of General Contractors of Arkansas (AGC Arkansas) by serving as the leading educational resource for all association members. The primary responsibilities include managing, developing and implementing educational programs, coordinating and/or teaching safety classes, including but not limited to safety & training programs, CEU opportunities, and statewide quarterly lunch & learns. Create and lead local safety committee, and act as liaison to national safety committee.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Alignment with AGC of Arkansas's Mission: Utilize AGC of Arkansas's mission and the current Strategic Plan as a personal guide for daily actions and performance of responsibilities in relevant key result areas.
- Goal Achievement: Achieve annual goals established jointly with the President/CEO demonstrating a commitment to organizational objectives.
- Safety Award Programs: Assist in facilitating various safety award programs and member participation, including the National AGC safety awards program and AGC Arkansas safety awards program.
- Represent AGC Arkansas: Attend statewide social events to represent AGC Arkansas and build and maintain relationships with members. Maintain established partnerships with OSHA and ARDOT. Also serve on national AGC safety committee and other President/CEO appointed committees if needed.
- Exceptional Customer Service: Utilize every opportunity when interacting with members to build stronger relationships and demonstrate exceptional customer service, fostering a positive association experience. Perform regular members visits and calls to engage members and assess their needs.
- Special Projects: Perform special projects as assigned by the President/CEO contributing to the achievement of organizational goals.
- Communication: Directly communicate and promote all course offerings & educational opportunities to members. Must be proficient in Outlook.
- Policy Adherence: Abide by all policies established by the President/CEO ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Training Delivery: Schedule classroom-based, and virtual training classes as requested by AGC Arkansas members and other relevant parties. Communicate and promote national AGC training programs (AGC EDGE).
- Innovation and Improvement: Initiate ideas for new and improved ways to perform responsibilities and bring recommendations to the executive management team's attention for possible implementations.
- Roster Management: Collect and process all rosters and related information from individuals attending job site training sessions, which are used to maintain and disseminate safety records and verifications. Manage training database using AMS.
- Reporting/Invoicing: Prepare all necessary reports for invoicing related to educational opportunities.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of industry changes/trends and develop programs or learning tools to enhance membership services, ensuring that AGC Arkansas remains at the forefront of professional development and education in construction. Facilitate engaging/relevant quarterly educational events for members.
- Business Development: Build relationships with members (and non-members) to promote your services and courses and AGC Arkansas.
- Learning Materials: Maintain all safety-related learning materials with attention to quality and currency, developing safety curriculum as required to meet evolving industry needs.
- Event Assistance: Assist full team with the preparation and facilitation of any event as needed, including but not limited to heavy lifting, supply procurement, set-up, tear-down, etc.
Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in Teaching and/or Presenting is required. Must be comfortable speaking comfortably in large groups of people in classroom and board room setting.
- Must have experience in and be knowledgeable of the construction industry.
- OSHA – 500 & 501certification preferred but not required.
- Experience coordinating classes and/or educational opportunities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, experience with AMS systems is a plus.
- Exceptional customer service knowledge and ability.
- Maintain well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Friendly/approachable personality and positive attitude with the ability to work closely with small team, supporting all teammates when needed.

Hours and Travel Requirements:
AGC Arkansas has members across the state and hosts statewide events year-round. This job requires member visits, traveling to coordinate and/or teach safety and training courses, as well as occasional travel to events. Some nights and weekends required. Office hours are typically Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm, but office hour adjustments are made for member visits, safety and training courses, and events as needed.

Salary Range: $55k - $65k/ year. Negotiable based on experience.
