Job Description Job Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Billerica, Massachusetts. This role requires expertise in managing financial transactions and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. As a key contributor, you will play an essential role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency in day-to-day accounting operations. Responsibilities: • Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including invoice processing and payment approvals. • Ensure all payments are accurately processed and adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements. • Review and authorize complex invoices and payment transactions. • Establish and maintain new vendor accounts while ensuring compliance with company standards. • Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting. • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure precision in financial records. • Handle corporate tax returns, including preparation and submission. • Assist with sales tax calculations and compliance. • Support month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting. • Collaborate with internal teams to address accounting discrepancies and improve workflows. • Proven experience in corporate tax, including preparation and filing. • Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and application. • Proficiency in processing corporate tax returns with attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability to create and manage journal entries. • Familiarity with general ledger maintenance and reconciliation. • Solid expertise in accounts payable processes and vendor management. • Strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy in financial transactions. • Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team.
