Job Description Job Description We are looking for an experienced Grant Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will take charge of managing the financial aspects of grants, ensuring compliance with funding regulations, and supporting program managers with financial oversight. This position is vital for maintaining accurate financial records and producing timely reports for grant-funded initiatives. Responsibilities: • Oversee the financial management of grants, including budgeting, tracking, and reporting activities. • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and private grant regulations and guidelines. • Prepare detailed financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for grant projects. • Monitor expenditures and reconcile grant accounts to guarantee proper fund allocation. • Collaborate with program managers to offer financial expertise and maintain budget accuracy. • Support audit processes by providing accurate documentation and responding to inquiries. • Process invoices, including coding and payment, for grant-related expenses. • Conduct bank reconciliations and post journal entries to ensure accurate accounting records. • Utilize accounting software to manage high-volume invoicing and ensure timely payments.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant accounting or nonprofit financial management. • Proficient knowledge of grant compliance regulations and financial reporting standards. • Strong skills in accounting software, including Abila MIP and SAP, as well as Microsoft Excel. • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume invoicing and process payments efficiently. • Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail capabilities to maintain accurate records. • Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. • Experience with bank reconciliations and journal entries to support accurate financial tracking.
