The Opportunity We are partnering with organizations in Delta Township that are seeking Tool Makers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. By connecting with Pivot Group, you position yourself for roles that match your background and aspirations. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC equipment. Interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools to ensure accuracy. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with tooling to optimize production efficiency and quality. Conduct preventative maintenance on tooling to extend lifespan and prevent breakdowns. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop new tools and improve existing ones. Recommended Qualifications Completion of a recognized Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship program or 5+ years of equivalent hands-on experience. Proficiency in operating and setting up a variety of manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills, grinders, EDMs). Advanced ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T specifications. Expertise in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMMs) to achieve tight tolerances. Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material properties for various tooling applications. Bonus Qualifications Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam) Experience operating and programming CMM equipment Knowledge of advanced heat treatment processes for tool steels Experience with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) or Wire EDM Job Titles That Should Apply Tool and Die Maker, Mold Maker, Die Maker, Precision Machinist, CNC Tool Maker, Tooling Technician, Jig and Fixture Maker, Prototype Machinist Why Pivot Group The Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
