Job Summary JPPO I Juvenile Probation & Parole Officer I Performs entry-level field work supporting the supervision of offending juveniles. Prepares investigation reports and recommendations for the court and/or Juvenile Parole Board under supervisory oversight. Ensures alignment with agency vision and mission by applying Practice Model theories and principles in all daily responsibilities. JPPO II Juvenile Probation & Parole Officer II Conducts investigations and prepares recommendations for the court and Juvenile Parole Board. Supervises juveniles placed on conditional release or parole. Upholds the agency mission by consistently applying Practice Model beliefs and principles. JPPO III Juvenile Probation & Parole Officer III Serves as an officer of the court, conducting investigations and reporting recommendations for juveniles placed on conditional release or parole. Ensures alignment with agency vision and mission through use of Practice Model principles. JPPO IV Juvenile Probation & Parole Officer IV Serves as an officer of the court and provides leadership within the juvenile probation and parole program. Conducts investigations, prepares recommendations, and directly supervises assigned staff. Applies Practice Model theories and principles in daily practice. Minimum Qualifications Overview JPPO I Combination of 2.5 years of post-high school education and/or experience in related fields. Valid drivers license and ability to travel, telework, and work non-traditional hours. Must complete 30 hours of approved training within 12 months of hire. JPPO II Associate degree + 2 years of experience OR 4 years combined education/experience. Experience must include work with adults or juveniles in criminal justice or social services. Valid drivers license, travel requirements, and ability to work flexible hours. JPPO III Bachelors degree + 1.5 years of experience OR 5.5 years combined education/experience. Includes at least 3 years working with juveniles or adults in criminal justice or social work. Valid drivers license, travel ability, and flexible scheduling required. JPPO IV Bachelors degree + 3 years of experience OR 7 years combined education/experience. Minimum 4 years in criminal justice or social work with juveniles or adults. Valid drivers license and ability to travel and work flexible hours. Responsibilities Summary JPPO I Attend court hearings and prepare reports under supervision. Supervise juveniles as ordered by the court. Monitor compliance with court orders. Report violations and recommend actions. Develop supervision plans for parole. Complete all documentation and training requirements. JPPO II Perform JPPO I duties with greater independence. May train new staff or supervise interns. Prepare court reports and monitor compliance. Develop parole supervision plans and report violations. Maintain all required documentation and training. JPPO III Independently conduct investigations and prepare court reports. Supervise juveniles and monitor compliance. Prioritize workload and provide guidance to new staff or interns. Participate in committees and community collaboration. Complete all documentation and mandatory training. JPPO IV Fully independent case and court work. Provide leadership, staff supervision, and administrative support. Oversee daily operations in supervisors absence. Participate in statewide or community-based committees. Complete all documentation and training requirements.
