You will utilize your extensive industry experience to prepare accurate cost estimates, collaborate with project managers, and contribute to proposal development. Your expertise in excavation methods and regional market conditions, particularly in the Gallatin Valley area, will be critical to ensure successful bidding and budgeting of projects.Key Responsibilities:Prepare thorough and accurate cost estimates for excavation and earthwork projects, leveraging the latest estimating software and tools.Analyze project specifications, requirements, and bid documents to accurately quantify costs.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for bids.Conduct site visits and assess site conditions to inform estimating processes and identify potential challenges or risks.Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable materials.Monitor project costs during construction to facilitate budget management and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures.Stay up to date with local market trends, labor costs, and material pricing to adjust estimates accordingly.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and team members on best practices in estimating processes and methodologies.Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings to communicate estimates and address any questions from the project team or clients.Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator & project manager in the excavation industry, with a preference for candidates with experience in the Gallatin Valley area of Montana.Proven track record of successfully bidding on and estimating excavation projects of varying scales and complexities.Strong understanding of excavation techniques, equipment, safety protocols, and relevant regulations.Proficient in using estimating software (e.g., SAGE 100, SAGE SFO, MS Office Suite.
