Machine Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant machinery, systems, and infrastructure. This role supports production operations by minimizing downtime and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance on production machines, tools, conveyors, and facility equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and perform timely repairs.
- Repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic machinery throughout the plant.
- Replace or repair motors, bearings, belts, sensors, and other machine components.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues before equipment failure.
- Assist production team with machine setup, calibration, and adjustments as needed.
Machining & Technical Skills:
- Must have knowledge of and be able to use shop machines including lathe, mill, and similar equipment.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow OSHA safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and maintenance protocols.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work, parts usage, and equipment history.
- Participate in safety trainings and report hazards immediately.
Operational Support:
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or servicing.
- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
Qualifications:
- Required: High school diploma or GED. Minimum of five (5) years in maintenance preferred. Must have a working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. Must have strong mechanical aptitude. Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Ability to operate lathes, mills, and other shop machinery.
- Preferred: Technical or vocational training in maintenance, industrial technology, or related field. Experience with PLCs, automation, or CNC machinery. Forklift certification.
Testing Requirement: A maintenance skills test will be required as part of the hiring process.
