Position Summary

This strategic corporate role is the primary authority on insurance. The candidate is expected to develop, manage, and optimize all insurable risks and direct the insurance strategy across all business lines, including gas turbine manufacturing and maintenance services, power plant development, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, and operation and maintenance of power generation facilities. The role encompasses purchasing insurance programs, managing claims and loss control activities, reviewing insurance contractual obligations, and communicating with brokers, insurers, lenders, and customers.

Position Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and oversee the company's global insurance program.
  • Lead negotiations with insurers and brokers to secure optimal coverage, terms, and pricing.
  • Work closely with the legal and commercial teams to review contracts, support negotiations, and ensure contractual obligations.
  • Monitor insurance obligations on large-scale projects, both domestic and international.
  • Align insurance programs with lenders' requirements and ensure compliance with local and international insurance regulations.
  • Partner with business units to periodically analyze and quantify risk exposures and drive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Direct the handling of complex claims, including property damage, business interruption, liability, and construction-related claims.
  • Establish internal policies and procedures for insurance management and compliance.
  • Create and optimize systems for managing insurance certificates with customers and vendors.
  • Communicate and coordinate internally with business leaders regarding risks.
  • Provide insurance-related input to audits, board reports, and risk reviews.
Required Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, risk management, or any related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience working in insurance or risk management, preferably with a broker, underwriter, or as an in-house insurance risk manager or director.
  • Industry experience in EPC, power generation, or large industrial sectors is highly preferred.
