Commercial HVAC Estimator role in San Diego

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator in San Diego to deliver accurate takeoffs and drive competitive bid success for multimillion-dollar projects.

Impact
  • Support HVAC projects from $1M to $7M through precise, timely estimates.
  • Strengthen relationships with general contractors and building owners.
  • Ensure smooth project handoff with clear scopes and budgets.
  • Contribute to profitable, on-time project delivery through reliable cost forecasting.
Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed HVAC takeoffs using on-screen tools and software.
  • Prepare estimates for plan/spec and design-build commercial projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align cost and execution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with GCs, subs, and vendors.
  • Review plans, specs, and scopes to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate bid schedules and ensure on-time submissions.
  • Maintain cost history and update pricing databases.
  • Support preconstruction efforts with budgetary guidance.
Requirements
Must-Haves
  • 5+ years estimating commercial HVAC projects.
  • Experience with on-screen takeoff software.
  • Knowledge of systems and equipment for projects $1M-$7M.
  • Stable employment history and strong references.
  • Local to the San Diego area or willing to commute.
  • Prior field experience in HVAC installation or service.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam, Trimble, or estimating platforms.
  • Design-build or negotiated work experience.
  • Relationships with regional general contractors.
  • OSHA 30 certification or safety training background.
