Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Commercial HVAC Estimator in San Diego to deliver accurate takeoffs and drive competitive bid success for multimillion-dollar projects.

Impact

Support HVAC projects from $1M to $7M through precise, timely estimates.

Strengthen relationships with general contractors and building owners.

Ensure smooth project handoff with clear scopes and budgets.

Contribute to profitable, on-time project delivery through reliable cost forecasting.

Responsibilities

Perform detailed HVAC takeoffs using on-screen tools and software.

Prepare estimates for plan/spec and design-build commercial projects.

Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align cost and execution.

Build and maintain relationships with GCs, subs, and vendors.

Review plans, specs, and scopes to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Coordinate bid schedules and ensure on-time submissions.

Maintain cost history and update pricing databases.

Support preconstruction efforts with budgetary guidance.

Requirements
Must-Haves:

5+ years estimating commercial HVAC projects.

Experience with on-screen takeoff software.

Knowledge of systems and equipment for projects $1M-$7M.

Stable employment history and strong references.

Local to the San Diego area or willing to commute.

Prior field experience in HVAC installation or service.

Nice-to-Haves:

Familiarity with Bluebeam, Trimble, or estimating platforms.

Design-build or negotiated work experience.

Relationships with regional general contractors.

OSHA 30 certification or safety training background.
