Role: Accounting Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA - On-site

Compensation : $115,000 - $125,000 / Annually

Reports to: Controller

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, vision, dental, and 401(k).

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting. This role will manage the monthly close process, maintain internal controls, and partner closely with Finance leadership to support business objectives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting skills and experience operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Reporting
  • Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy of balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting
  • Support audits, tax filings, and parent company reporting requirements
Accounting Operations
  • Oversee general ledger, AP, AR, payroll coordination, and fixed assets
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition and expense accruals
  • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Manage intercompany accounting as applicable
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Establish and enforce strong internal controls and segregation of duties
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Proactively identify and resolve accounting issues and process gaps
Process Improvement & Systems
  • Drive process improvements to streamline close and reporting cycles
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to improve data quality and insights
  • Assist with ERP implementations, upgrades, or system integrations
  • Evaluate automation and efficiency opportunities within accounting workflows
Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with monthly close and financial statement preparation
  • Advanced Excel skills
Preferred
  • CPA or CPA-eligible
  • Experience in PE-owned, multi-entity, or high-growth environments
  • ERP experience (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Intacct)
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, distribution, or services
