POSITION MISSION
The General Accounting Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the general accounting processes and will oversee all aspects of Bagel Brand's Accounts Payable (AP) function. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, compliance with internal controls, and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes, including recording general accounting entries and accruals. The General Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounts payable and expense management system, ensuring timely and accurate payments, streamlining AP processes, and implementing best practices. The ideal candidate will bring extensive financial operations experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to partner cross-functionally to support the company's growth and operational efficiency, preferably within the food and beverage industry. This role will report to the Assistant Controller and will supervise a team of three.

- Department: Accounting
- Base Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000 annually
- Bonus: 15% annual incentive target
- Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Oversee general accounting entries and accruals, including review and approval of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payments.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members, providing guidance and performance management.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms, and resolve escalated issues.
- Monitor AP aging reports, cash flow impact, and ensure adherence to payment schedules.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to align on purchase-to-pay processes.
- Oversee expense management process and policies, including policy adherence, timely reporting, issuance and management of employee company cards, and in-house training.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor AP performance and present insights to senior leadership.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to internal and external auditors.
- Lead AP integration efforts related to ERP system upgrades or implementations.
- Prepare and present regular AP reports to senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

Preferred:
- Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
- Experience with multi-unit restaurants and/or retail organizations.
- Experience implementing process improvements and system integrations.
EDUCATION - TRAINING - EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable or related finance functions.
- 2+ years of team management experience.
