Job Description

Service Writer

Our client based in Houston, TX, operating in the Tire Sales industry, is currently seeking a dedicated Service Writer to join their team on a direct hire basis.

Service Writer Responsibilities
  • Prepare and oversee service quotes, work orders, and repair approvals
  • Research parts to ensure accurate pricing for repair estimates
  • Order parts for approved repairs and monitor delivery status
  • Maintain and update part numbers, inventory data, and related records using QuickBooks and/or Fieldservio
  • Support fleet inspections and assist in collecting necessary information
  • Provide tire quotes for customers and internal sales teams
  • Monitor and update fleet survey data as required
  • Process accounts payable, including matching receivers and entering vendor invoices
  • Assist with general administrative and accounting duties
  • Coordinate effectively with technicians and sales teams to ensure clear and timely communication
  • Carry out cross-functional support tasks as needed, such as occasional parts delivery or organizing inventory
Service Writer Qualifications
  • Previous experience in service writing and estimating within customer-facing roles, preferably in automotive, industrial equipment, or related service industries
  • Knowledge of Tire Sales is a significant advantage
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting/ERP systems
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Basic understanding of tire products and industrial equipment (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, follow-up, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • High school diploma or GED required

Job Requirements

Previous experience in service writing, parts estimation, or similar customer-facing roles in automotive or industrial service industries., Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
