Job Description

The best candidate will be a self-motivated, dynamic individual with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. You will help forward the mission of the university by helping to admit individuals from around the nation as a part of the Sooner Family.

What you will do:
  • Coordinate the admission and matriculation process for incoming applicants.
  • Maintain and update applicant and student records within university software platforms.
  • Collaborate with colleges to ensure appropriate documentation is submitted.
  • Offer assistance and support to student applicants during their admissions and recruitment experience.
  • Advise students and families regarding educational opportunities and options, admission and other requirements, policies and procedures, transfer of credit, and financial assistance as appropriate.
  • Assist occasionally with recruitment efforts such as, but not limited to, in-person events and fairs as well as virtual information sessions.
  • Provide support to incoming domestic and international transfer, graduate and professional applicants and readmitted students as they navigate the college and national applications and decision process.
  • Apply complex policies and procedures to process applications for admission to the university including the evaluation of academic and supporting credentials.

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Certifications:
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.
Working Conditions:
  • Physical:
    • Ability to bend, lift, stoop and carry.
    • Ability to engage in repetitive motions.
  • Environmental:
    • Standard office environment.
    • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods.
    • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
    • Requires contact with other departments and university officials.
    • Willingness to work extended and weekend hours during peak periods.
Departmental Preferences:
  • Previous experience in Higher Education Admissions
  • Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft
