Position Summary:

Develops cross functional financial analysis and support to all areas of the business as assigned. accurate and timely shrink projections, calculating competitive impact to sales, budgeting profit and loss statements and reporting sales. Research and analyze data to respond to ad hoc requests. Oversight will include sales, margin, expenses, reporting, budgeting and capital.

  • Daily, weekly sales reporting, analysis and budgeting.
  • Provide insights using detailed date mining and modeling.
  • Utilize advanced technical PC and data management skills to continually improve upon existing processes, techniques and leverage financial systems in the innovative development and implementation of executive level reporting tools which aid in the communication of financial results.
  • Preparation of schedules, templates, narratives and facilitation of the process to ensure achievement of deadlines.
  • Provide analytical support and proactively identify, analyze and interpret business performance drivers and opportunities.
  • Provides analytical support of the Profit & Loss (P&L) lines related to period diagnostics and drivers for various departments.


Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Interfaces with business leads to determine plans for future periods and support them in projecting financial impact
  • Prepares schedules, variance explanations and allocation budgets
  • Collects, evaluates and analyzes financial information submitted by the business as an input to development of long-term (multi-year) planning, annual budget, quarterly forecast updates and period/weekly projections
  • Using trend analysis, variance analysis versus budgets, forecasts
  • Root cause analysis to determine drivers for variances in results
  • Identify insights and suggest actionable recommendations


Planning and Execution
  • Provide analytical support of the P&L lines related to period diagnostics and drivers for various departments
  • Use trend analysis, variance analysis and root cause analysis to determine drivers in results
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of the period end closing process
  • Various periodic and ad hoc reporting and cross-functional projects
  • Identify insights and suggest actionable recommendations
  • Work with financial tools, such as Hyperion Planning, EPM (Brand and ADUSA), SAP, Excel and PowerPoint, and will work with data analytics available within ADUSA systems
  • Authority to engage with functional areas regarding period results and budget/forecasts
  • Must understand margin management, sales forecasting and operational score carding
  • Must work well in a team environment and be comfortable presenting findings to leadership
  • Continuous improvement of existing processes and ability to leverage systems in the innovative development of executive-level tools to communicate financial results


What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or similar finance-related roles.
  • Prior experience in retail/ecommerce finance or FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) environment.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting business units.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to build complex models.
  • Proficiency in financial systems.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear visual narratives using tools like Power BI
  • Experience conducting scenario planning and risk assessments to support contingency strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and support strategic decision-making through financial insights
  • Understanding of business drivers and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to explain findings to stakeholders.


Salary: $80,925 - $107,500

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the role, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable law. This position will be on-site at the Giant Food Headquarters in Hyattsville, MD.
