As a private, non-profit 501(C) (3) community health organization, we serve over 500,000 medical, dental, and behavioral health visits from more than 96k people annually. We do this in pursuit of our mission to improve the health and happiness of the communities we serve by providing quality care to all, regardless of situation or circumstance.

ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE:
Neighborhood Healthcare is committed to providing high-quality behavioral health services to our communities. We have an extensive wait list of patients in need of our services, and we are looking for a volunteer to help us contact these individuals and schedule their intake appointments. Your contributions will play a crucial role in helping our patients receive the care they need. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for behavioral health and an interest in contributing to a community-focused healthcare organization. Please note, this is an unpaid volunteer position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting with managing and maintaining the waitlist for behavioral health services
- Calling patients to schedule intake appointments and ensure timely access to care
- Coordinating with the behavioral health team to streamline patient scheduling processes
- Associate's degree in psychology or related field preferred
- Experience in behavioral health or a strong interest in the field
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
- Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish/English
- Minimum of 2 days per week, with availability between Monday through Friday
- Volunteers must commit to serving for at least 2 months
- Gain hands-on experience in a healthcare behavioral health setting
- Learn valuable administrative and communication skills
- Be part of a compassionate team dedicated to improving patient access to care
- Build your resume while giving back to the community
