Exciting Opportunity in Cardiovascular Surgery
Join a dynamic cardiology team dedicated to providing exceptional patient-centered care at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). Our clinic, situated at the Ashley River Tower (ART), handles approximately 600-700 patients per week in a fast-paced environment that is both busy and fun. We prioritize teamwork and collaboration to ensure every patient has a great experience.
Position Overview:
As a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse, you will report to the Outpatient Clinic Manager and work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your role will involve performing various clinical tasks to support patient care, including:
- Assisting in the examination and treatment of patients.
- Interviewing patients and recording vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, height, and weight.
- Preparing treatment rooms for patient examinations.
Qualifications:
For Certified Medical Assistants:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with at least one year of patient care experience preferred.
- Certification through recognized organizations such as AMT, AAMA, NHA, or MedCA.
- Current AHA BLS certification is required.
For Licensed Practical Nurses:
- Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program.
- Valid LPN license in South Carolina or compact state.
- Current AHA BLS certification is required.
Physical Requirements:
In this role, you will need to be able to:
- Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Perform various physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain 20/40 vision (corrected) and hearing acuity.
- Work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
