ASIC Architecture: Runtime Development

Summary:

Meta is seeking a highly skilled ASIC Architecture Runtime Development Engineer with experience in hardware modeling, particularly on RISC-V or PCIe architectures. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining accurate models of complex hardware systems using the QEMU framework. Your expertise will enable us to simulate and test various hardware configurations, ensuring the reliability and performance of our AI Accelerator.

Required Skills:

ASIC Architecture: Runtime Development Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop the host runtime environment for heterogeneous computing systems, ensuring efficient communication and data transfer between different processing units

2. Develop and implement device drivers, APIs, and libraries to enable seamless interaction between the host runtime environment and various processing units

3. Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand the architecture of heterogeneous computing systems and optimize the host runtime environment accordingly

4. Work closely with application developers to ensure that the host runtime environment meets their requirements and provides optimal performance for their applications

5. Participate in code reviews, and stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

6. Troubleshoot and debug issues, working closely with hardware engineers and application developers to resolve problems

Minimum Qualifications:

7. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

8. 6+ years of experience in software development in the area of heterogeneous computing or high-performance computing

9. Programming skills in languages such as C++, Rust, and Python

10. Experience with runtime development, device driver development, API design, and library implementation

11. Problem-solving skills to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions

12. Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

13. Knowledge of computer architecture, operating systems, and parallel programming models (e.g., OpenMP, MPI)

14. Familiarity with heterogeneous computing platforms, such as NVIDIA CUDA, OpenCL, or AMD ROCm

15. Experience with object oriented, trait oriented and functional programming

16. Knowledge of machine learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch

17. Experience with agile software development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git, Mercurial

18. Familiarity with modern build tools like Bazel, Buck, CMake etc

$142,000/year to $203,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
