Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment conducive to optimal patient care by utilizing aseptic surgical techniques.
  • Prepare and arrange materials, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Assist surgeons by anticipating their needs and providing instruments during surgeries.
  • Ensure the operating room is equipped and prepared for each procedure.
  • Function as a second assistant as needed and carry out necessary patient and equipment transport duties.
  • Ensure all equipment and specialty carts are maintained and in working condition.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and provide care specific to the age group of patients served.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved Surgical Technology program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months
  • No prior experience required
  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and operating room equipment preferred
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to handle the demands of a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
  • Must handle exposure to chemical, electrical, mechanical, and bodily fluid hazards.
  • Functional sight and hearing are required for this role.
