Schedule Details:
$10,000 SIGN-ON Bonus Available with distance-based relocation available.
$2,000 SIGN-ON Bonus for Evening Shifts at ASLMC.

Become part of our amazing Operating Room team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin with a 24/7 on-site heart-care team. We are a nationally recognized healthcare provider committed to innovative patient care across a variety of surgical specialties.

Schedule/Hours: Full-time, evening shift with options for 8 or 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, including on-call duties predominantly overnight (approximately 5-8 call slots and 1-2 weekend call slots within an 8-week scheduling window). On-call hours may vary depending on staffing needs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a clean and safe surgical environment, utilizing aseptic techniques for optimal patient care.
  • Maintain knowledge of multiple surgical procedures and assist in preparing the surgical area and instruments.
  • Guarantee the operational efficiency and safety of the operating room by setting up and breaking down for surgical cases.
  • Act as a Second Assistant when necessary, and participate in patient transport and positioning.
  • Monitor and report any equipment or supply issues promptly.
  • Keep specialty carts stocked and in working order, ensuring availability for surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrate understanding of care needs for patients of varying ages and conditions.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 6 months unless exempted by the department leader.

Education Required:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved Surgical Technology program.

Experience Required:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and equipment used in the surgical setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Commitment to maintaining annual educational certifications.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • High stamina required for a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment safely.
  • Proficiency in the use of protective gear including masks, gloves, and goggles.
  • Capable of frequent standing, walking, lifting, and bending during shifts.
