Position Overview: As a Surgical Technologist at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in our operating room team. Your attention to detail and ability to thrive in high-pressure situations will ensure that our patients receive top-notch surgical care.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and efficient operating room, utilizing aseptic techniques.
  • Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
  • Ensure disinfection and safety protocols are followed in the operating room.
  • Function as a Second Assistant as necessary.
  • Transport patients and equipment as required.
  • Check and maintain specialty carts ensuring readiness for procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient care principles across all age groups.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 6 months of employment.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology is required.
  • No prior experience is necessary.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Commitment to maintaining annual certification requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry weights as specified.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Required to wear appropriate safety gear, including masks and gloves.
