The Adecco Permanent Recruitment Group is partnered with a leading Aerospace Manufacturing company in Metro Detroit to hire experienced CNC Vertical Lathe (VTL) Machinist for 2nd shift. This is a direct hire role offering long-term stability and growth.
Shift Information

Current Schedule (12-hour shifts until quotas are met):
  • 2nd Shift: 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM
Future Schedule (8-10 hour shifts):
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM (OT ends at 2:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC Vertical Lathe (VTL) machines - will also consider Horizontal Lathe experience
  • Run multiple machines as part of manufacturing cells when feasible
  • Machine hard metals including Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel
  • Read and interpret operation sheets, symbols, and CNC programs
  • Use Fanuc controls and perform offsets as required
  • Load parts onto fixtures and operate hoists for machine loading
  • Utilize right-angle heads as needed
  • Work within tight tolerances (± thousandths)
  • Apply GD&T principles
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, swing gauges)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace preferred)
  • Experience supporting major aerospace OEMs such as Pratt & Whitney, GE, Rolls-Royce
  • Strong math skills and ability to use calculators
  • Ability to read tool sheets and set up tooling
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and climb machine platforms
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Strong teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
