  • Lead and manage the nursing staff within the Ortho Neuro Med Surg unit, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee patient care activities within the unit, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in orthopedic and neurological conditions.
  • Manage the daily operations of the unit, including resource allocation, staffing, equipment management, and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons, neurologists, and physical therapists, to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and direction during emergencies, ensuring that the team remains responsive and focused in high-pressure situations.
Candidate requirements Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field is preferred. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical, orthopedic, or neuro care, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred. Certification in Orthopedic Nursing (ONC) or Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) is a plus.
